The journey begins around midnight, when you’re picked up from your hotel and driven toward the cool mountain region. After a few hours on the road, you’ll hop into a 4WD jeep that takes you through winding roads and the wide sea of sand.
Before dawn, the jeep brings you to a famous viewpoint such as Penanjakan or King Kong Hill. Here, the real magic begins. As the sky slowly brightens, the silhouette of Mount Bromo, Mount Batok, and the mighty Mount Semeru appears in the distance. When the sun finally rises, the whole landscape is bathed in golden light—an iconic moment that feels almost unreal.
After enjoying the sunrise, the adventure continues. You’ll head down to the crater area, where a short hike and a climb up the stairs lead you to the rim of Bromo’s smoking volcano. Pick up from your hotel in Malang. Get comfy in the car as we start the midnight ride toward Mount Bromo.

Arrive at the jeep parking area and switch to a 4WD jeep. Get ready for a bumpy but exciting ride across the mountain roads.

Reach the viewpoint at Penanjakan (or King Kong Hill, depending on conditions). Wait for the magic moment as the sun rises and lights up Mount Bromo, Mount Batok, and Mount Semeru in the background.
06.00 – 07.30
Head down to the Sea of Sand and hike (or ride a horse if you like, exclude) to the Bromo crater. Climb the stairs to the rim and look inside the smoking volcano.
