Day 01
Tumpak sewu adventure
We kick things off at 7:00 AM, leaving the hotel and heading straight to Tumpak Sewu. It’s about a three-hour drive, so just sit back and enjoy the view along the way.
By 10:00 AM, we finally arrive. A local guide takes us to the Panorama Viewpoint—only a short 300-meter walk from the parking area—and wow, the view is insane!
Around 10:30 AM, it’s time to head down to the base of the waterfall. The path is steep and a little adventurous, so get ready to work those legs. But trust me, standing right under Tumpak Sewu with the mist on your face is 100% worth it.
By 1:00 PM, we start heading To Bromo, and by 4:00 PM, we’re checking in hotel with plenty of time to chill and rest up for tomorrow’s adventure.
Day 02
Sunrise Bromo
It’s an early start—like midnight early. At 12:00 AM, we hop in the car and head towards Mount Bromo. Around 2:00 AM, we switch to a Jeep for the off-road ride up the mountain.
By 2:30 AM, we’re already at the Sunrise Viewpoint. Grab a coffee, get cozy, and wait for the magic. At 3:30 AM, the sun starts peeking over the horizon, lighting up Mount Bromo and Mount Semeru in the distance. It’s the kind of view you’ll never forget.
At 6:00 AM, we drive across the Sea of Sand, then start the 2 km hike up Mount Bromo around 7:00 AM. It takes about an hour and a half, but the views from the top make it totally worth it.
By 9:00 AM, we’re back at the parking area and begin the drive to Bondowoso. It’s a long ride—about five hours—so we roll into the hotel around 3:00 PM, check in, and relax for the rest of the day.
Day 03
Ijen Plateau Tour
Another early start—12:00 AM—this time to Ijen Crater. At 2:00 AM, our local guide gives us gas masks and headlamps, then we start hiking up.
By 3:00 AM, we reach the top just in time to see the famous Blue Fire—a surreal, glowing flame you won’t see anywhere else. As the sun comes up at 5:00 AM, the whole crater lights up, revealing the turquoise lake surrounded by swirling sulfur clouds. Watching miners carrying huge loads of sulfur on their shoulders is pretty eye-opening.
We hike back down by 6:00 AM, and by 7:00 AM, you can either continue to Ketapang Ferry Port for your next stop or head back to Surabaya. Totally up to you.
