Overview
Fire Smoke Blue Flame Bromo Ijen 2 Day Expedition from Surabaya is an exciting two-day journey to two of East Java’s most iconic volcanoes. Witness the spectacular sunrise over Mount Bromo, explore its vast sea of sand and smoking crater, then continue to Ijen Crater to see the world-famous blue flame phenomenon before dawn. Combining dramatic volcanic scenery, adventure, and unforgettable natural wonders, this expedition is the perfect choice for travelers seeking the ultimate East Java experience in a short time.
Exploring Mount Bromo and Kawah Ijen is one of the most unforgettable adventures you can have in East Java. Both destinations offer completely different experiences, yet together they create the perfect combination of natural wonders.
The journey usually begins at Mount Bromo. Waking up before dawn, you’ll ride a jeep across the sea of sand to reach a viewpoint like King Kong Hill or Penanjakan. As the sun rises, the scenery comes alive—Mount Bromo smoking gently, Mount Batok standing tall, and Mount Semeru, the highest peak in Java, in the background. After sunrise, you can walk across the desert-like landscape and climb up to the rim of Bromo’s crater. Standing there, looking into the steaming volcano, feels like stepping onto another planet.
From Bromo, the adventure continues to Banyuwangi for the famous Kawah Ijen. After a midnight hike, you’ll reach the crater just before sunrise. Here, you can witness the rare “blue fire” phenomenon and watch sulfur miners carrying heavy loads from the volcano. As daylight breaks, the turquoise lake inside the crater reveals itself—calm, mysterious, and breathtaking.
Together, Bromo and Ijen show the raw beauty and power of nature, making this journey a must-do for any traveler in Java.
